My husband and I took up diving rather late in life. We were both in our 50's! We started because I wanted to take photographs of the fish we saw when snorkelling in the Red Sea. What a wonderful experience it is! Rather like astronauts when there is no gravity, one can move in any direction and in any position. That is, if you have managed to get the hang of your buoyancy!!
We first discovered Sharm El Naga when we were on holiday in Hurghada, Egypt. We joined a day trip to go there for snorkelling. We discovered huge parrot fish swimming around our legs when we were paddling. Just a few steps further and the sandy bottom sunk down beside a huge house reef.
We were able to take many beautiful photographs of the huge variety of colourful fish and corals.
The divers below were, of course, much nearer to the sea bed and we were envious of their photographs!! So we decided to investigate this Dive Centre.
For our next holiday we stayed at Sham El Naga and took our Open Water Certificate.
The staff are charming and the equipment is always in excellent condition.
The rooms are basic and comfortable, and the food is excellent.

I have written an App for the iPhone (it also runs on the iPad).
It is currently available in the app store.
It is also available in the Google Play store for Android devices.
Contact me if you would like this app for your Windows or Mac computer.
It is a simple way to identify fish you see in the Red Sea.
There is a beginner's diving quiz.
You can have a slide show of the fish.
You can search by colour or family.
There are links to take you to Wikipedia for more information on each fish.
It is called Diving in the Red Sea.
If you like this app and find it useful, please consider leaving a review on the Apple store. :)
June 2014
I have added another two apps which, as before, are in the Apple store and the Google Play store.
They are also available for Mac and PC is you contact me.
One is called Treat Your Chakras - Energising and shows how to do healing with hands.
This app is intended for those who practise Chakra Energising.
This therapy is non invasive and safe as you do not actually touch the client.
The routine is given as a slide show which you can follow as you treat.
You can set the time of the slides to fit in with your routine.
There is information which tells you about the app.
There is a section called Read where you can find information about how to treat the client.
There are pictures of the Chakras showing the disorders and organs they can affect.
There is a list of disorders which take you to pictures of the chakras, showing the colours to channel,
and which part of the body to treat.
Please note, this app is not intended as a diagnostic tool or a cure for disorders.
All it does is balance the body's own energy field.
In cases of illness, please consult a qualified medical practitioner.
